March 26 - 30, 2018

I hope your week is off to a good start!  Students received a copy of their data sheet based upon their practice test last week. This week, as I sit with small groups to dig into misconceptions and really cement those concepts that we have worked on all year, other students will continue to work on their extensive in class project. More information on that project can be found here. The deadline for this project has been extended through TN Ready.  Students may be asking to bring supplies as our collection of supplies was mistakenly thrown out by a new custodian.  Thank you in advance for any supplies you can provide.

As students complete a review on a required topic, they will be provided an opportunity to take an assessment.  Not all students will be required to take the assessment if they have already shown mastery.  All students will be graded on their in class project.
Please feel free to contact me if you have any questions, comments, thoughts, or concerns! I hope you have a great week!

March 12 - 16, 2018

This week we will begin to review our content for the year in a couple of different ways!  First, students will be taking a practice TCAP assessment in class.  While this will not go in the gradebook as a grade, it will be used so students can start to focus in on the skills they need to personally improve upon.  They will have the chance to practice those skills in small groups with me.  The second activity we will be using for review is an in-class project that involves creating a biome on a new planet suitable for a reunion between Elon Musk and his Roadster.  More information on that project can be found here.  A projected calendar of in class activities can be found here.

Monday  Vanderbilt's VSVS will be joining us for another exciting hands-on lesson!

Tuesday  Students will take the TCAP Practice test.  This will take at least one complete class period.  Some students may go into Wednesday's class period.

Wednesday  Some students will complete their practice TCAP test.  Students will receive information on their in-class project.  They will be given the opportunity to brainstorm and create groups in class.  Many students have already begun this part of the process in anticipation.  Supplies from home are welcome and encouraged, but some supplies will also be provided in class.

Thursday  Students will continue to work on their projects per the project calendar.  Some students will be pulled for small group instruction to help fill in any gaps uncovered by the TCAP practice test.

Friday  Students will continue to work on their projects per the project calendar.  Some students will be pulled for small group instruction to help fill in any gaps uncovered by the TCAP practice test.

Please feel free to contact me if you have any questions, comments, thoughts, or concerns! I hope you have a great week!
